And so it begins!

On May 2nd, 2016 I'll officially be running my own business! Throughout my last week at work, I've been thinking a lot about what it will be like to be my own boss. I'm extremely excited and relieved to finally make the jump, but realistically I know that my celebrating is really just the beginning of a lot of hard work to come. For future encouragement, I wrote down just a few things to remember as I go through this amazing and potentially challenging adventure ––

1. Do it for the love

Your goal in life and in this business has never been and will never be to make more money. You are beyond blessed with the most incredible husband, you get to travel around the world, your home is cozy and filled with sweet memories and in a beautiful city you love – "more money" does not equal more happiness. Do not make decisions based on money. Do not put money before your relationships. Do not lose sight of the heart of your business. You're doing this for the love. You're doing it because it makes you insanely happy. You're doing it because you love helping women build their dream jobs or their dream weddings.

2. You will have ups and downs

You will have days where you can't stop jumping up and down with a smile on your face. You will have days when you can't stop gushing over a job well done. You will also have days where you don't want to get out of bed. Where you feel like a failure. On these days, remember that you are good at what you do. That amazing things take time and a lot of work. Remember that you are blessed to be 24 and running your own business. That you are doing what you love. That even though today sucks, you are blessed to not have to deal with a potentially terrible boss. And, you never have to set another alarm! Look at the big picture and remember that every day can't be a good day. You're learning. You're driven. You'll bounce right back from this.

3. Be humble, be patient, don't be lazy

Snap out of getting caught up in your to-do list. Tackle one thing at a time, and everything will get done.
